Thank you for your interest in filling the pulpit for our church. Before you fill out this form, please read the following:
III. ARTICLES OF FAITH
1. THE BIBLE - We believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant and infallible Word of God to man. The New Testament serves as the foundation of the doctrine of the Christian Church. Only KJV can be used during teaching or preaching.
2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Pet. 1:20-21, Rev. 22:18-19.
2. THE TRUE GOD - We believe there is only one eternal, living and true God, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth; that in the unity of the God-head, there are three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who are equal in every divine attribute, and who execute distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of Redemption. Gen. 1:1; Gen. 1:26;Deu. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; John 1:1;1 Cor. 8:6; Col. 1:16-17, Rev. 1:8; Rev. 4:11.
3. OUR LORD AND SAVIOR - We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, as no man was ever born or can be born of a woman. He is both the Son of God and God the Son. He lived a perfect, sinless life. Is. 7:14; Isa. 9:6; Matt. 1:23; Luke 1:31-35; Heb. 1:1-8; Heb. 7:26.
4. THE HOLY SPIRIT – We believe that the Holy Spirit is a Divine
Person, equal with God the Father and God the Son, of the same nature; that He was active in the creation; that in His relation to the unbelieving world, He restrains the evil one until God’s purpose is fulfilled; that He convicts of sin, of righteousness, of judgment; that He bears witness of the Truth of the Gospel in preaching and testimony; that He is the Agent in the new birth; that He seals, empowers, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, and helps the believer. Gen. 1:; John 14:16-17, 26;John 16:8-11, 13-14; Acts 1:8; John 3:5-6; Heb, 9:14; Titus 3:5; Rom. 8:14, 16, 26-27; Luke 24:49; Mark 1:8.
5. THE FALL OF MAN -We believe man was created in innocence and in God’s image, but by his voluntary transgression, he fell from his happy and sinless state and became separated from God. All mankind are sinners as direct descendants of Adam and Eve and by choice, and are therefore under just condemnation without defense or excuse. All who reach the age of accountability are responsible for their sinful deeds. Gen. 1:26; Gen. 3:1-6;Gen 3:24;Romans 1:20; John 3:3; Rom. 3:10,12,23; Rom. 5:10-19.
6. THE ATONEMENT FOR SIN -We believe that salvation of sinners is of grace and grace alone, through the mediatorial work of the Son of God, who by the appointment of the Father freely took upon Himself our nature, yet without sin, honored the divine law by His personal obedience and by His death made a full payment as our Substitute, voluntarily dying in the sinner’s place, the Just for the unjust, Christ the Lord, bearing our sins in His body on the tree; that having been risen from the dead, He is seated at the right hand of the Father as our Great High Priest, compassionate and all-sufficient Savior. Eph. 2:8-9; Acts 15:11; Rom. 3:24-25; Rom. 5:8, John 3:16; 2 Cor 5:21; 1 Cor. 15:3-4, 1 Tim. 2:5-6, 1 Pet. 1:18-19; 1 Pet. 3:18; Heb. 2:14,17; Heb. 4:14-15.
7. THE RESURRECTION, PERSONAL, VISIBLE, PREMILLENIAL, PRE-TRIBULATION RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST - We believe in the bodily resurrection, the ascension, the High Priesthood, the Second Coming, the resurrection of the both the saved and the lost, the change of the living in Christ at His coming, the millennial throne and reign. We believe the saved will be resurrected unto eternal life and the lost unto eternal damnation. Dan. 12:2; Mat. 28:6-7; 1 Cor. 15:4; Acts 1:9-11; Acts 2:29-30; 1 Thes. 4:13-18; John 5:28-29, 2 Pet. 3:7-9, Rev. 20:4-6, 11-15; 1 Cor. 15:50-58.
8. BAPTISM AND THE LORD’S SUPPER -We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of the believer in water to show forth our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, and our death to sin and resurrection to new life; that baptism is pre-requisite to the privileges of a Church relation. We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of His death until He comes, and is observed by the Church following self-examination by the members. We believe the bread and the wine symbolize the body and the blood of Christ. The church observes a closed Communion (believers only). Matt. 26:26-30;Acts 8:36-39; John 3:23; Rom. 6:3-5; 1 Cor. 10:16, 1 Cor. 11:17-32, Col. 2:12.
9. TRUE CONVERSION -We believe that a true conversion is evidenced by a spiritual rebirth, restoration of peace with God and man, the fruit of the Spirit and obedience to God’s Word. Rom. 5:1; Gal. 5:22-26, 1 Pet. 1:23; 1 John 2:3-6.
10. ETERNAL SECURITY -We believe that all who are truly born again are kept by the power of God the Father for Jesus Christ. Phil. 1:6; John 1:12; John 5:24; John 3:16;John 10:28-29; Rom. 8:35-39;Eph. 2:8; Jude 24; 1 Pet. 1:5.
11. THE LOCAL CHURCH - We believe that a local church is a congregation of immersed believers, associated by covenant of faith and fellowship of the Gospel; observing the ordinances of Christ, governed by His laws, and exercising the gifts, rights and privileges invested in them by His Word; that its officers are pastors and deacons whose qualifications and duties are clearly defined in the Scriptures; we believe the true mission of the Church is the faithful witnessing of Christ to all men as we have the opportunity. We hold that the local New Testament Church has the absolute right of self-government, free from the interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations; and that the one and only Head of the Church is Christ, through the Holy Spirit; that each local Church is the sole judge of all matters of membership, of policy of government, of discipline, of benevolence; the will of the local church is final. Acts 2:41-42;Eph. 1:22-23; Eph. 4:11; Acts 20:17-28; 1 Tim. 3:15; Col. 1:18; Acts 15:13-18.
12. OF MISSIONS -We believe that the Great Commission to evangelize the world was given to the Church by our risen Lord. Mat. 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-47; Acts 1:8; Rom. 1:14-16.
13. OF SEPARATION FROM THE WORLD - We believe that believers are called into a life of separation from all worldly and sinful practices to a life of sanctification, being not conformed to the world. Discipline of erring members is administered for their spiritual welfare and for the preservation of the church. Rom. 12:1-2; Matt. 18:15-17; John 17:14:16; 1 Cor. 5; Gal. 6:1, 1 Thes. 5:22; 2 Thes. 3:6, 14-15; James 1:14-15 & 4:4; 1 Pet. 1:14-15, 1 John 2:15-17.
14. HUMAN SEXUALITY - We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one’s gender by surgery or appearance. Gen. 2:24; Gen. 19:5, 13; Gen. 26:8-9; Lev. 18:1-30; Rom. 1:26-29; 1 Cor. 5:1; 6:9; 1 Thess. 4:1-8; Heb. 13:4.
We believe that the only scriptural marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. Gen. 2:24; Rom. 7:2; 1 Cor 7:10; Eph. 5:22-23.
15. LAWSUITS BETWEEN BELIEVERS – We believe Christians are prohibited from bringing civil lawsuits against other Christians or the Church to resolve personal disputes. We believe the church possesses all the resources necessary to resolve personal disputes between members. We do believe however, a Christian may seek compensation from another Christian’s insurance company as long as the claim is pursued without malice or slander. 1 Cor 6:1-8; Eph 4:31-32.
